TradeMe gets all Web2.0 (kinda)
It looks like the smart bunnies over at TradeMe has been hard at work – adding some nice, subtle AJAX-type functions into the website. And, sensible and careful-careful as always, it’s not in big, major things – it’s making good use of async processing where it fits.
Which is, in my opinion, one of the two best ways to do it (the other being ala GMAIL and GCAL – 100% client-side script)
Here’s some shots of the two bits I found (yes, it’s kinda like an easter egg hunt – there may be lots more):
(after pressing “save to watch list” button – no page refresh at all)
(After clicking on “change” – allows me to change the settings for this watch)
(adding a new note to a watched item)
(after adding the note. Hit the (X) and it goes away, again, no refresh)
All up, good on ya, Trade Me! Looks like you (the royal “you”) are using AJAX stuff in places where it’s of most use and will impact people the most (both of the operations above required atleast 2 page refreshes), rather than trying to do wholesale changes just for the sake of it.
Righto. Back to trying to find a replacement phone. The buttons on my SP3i are dieing
. Anyone got a spare SP3 or SP3i (or SP5?) they are willing to sell cheap!?
